I realize it’s not even December yet, but I’ve already been prepping for the holidays. Yep, that’s right, our entire condo is decked out in cranberry, peppermint and balsam-scented candles, we have our mini Christmas tree assembled, and various other holiday decorations are gracing practically every surface. Of course, this is all my doing and very much against the will of D, who is very patient and understanding of my obsession with this time of year 🙂 The poor guy woke up on November 1 to the sounds of my newly jazzed-up Christmas playlist.
With the holidays coming up (it’s true.. they are!), many of us will have packed calendars with parties and other fun social gatherings. We want to be feeling good, looking good and at our very best. This means eating right, staying active, getting enough rest, and making time for ourselves. The piece I think we all struggle with the most this time of year is the staying active part. I don’t know about you, but gathering the motivation to head to the gym when it’s pitch dark outside and freeeeezing is quite the challenge (I’d much rather be cuddling in bed thankyouverymuch). What’s a girl to do? I introduce you to the latest program from Booty Boot Camp founder, Sammie Kennedy: HIT THE WEIGHTS.
I received an email from Sammie a few weeks ago (sorry for the delay in getting this post up, Sammie!) about a new online fitness and nutrition program she’s just launched. The best part of this program is that it can be done in the comfort of your own home, can be customized to match your fitness level, and is all planned out for you so that there are NO EXCUSES to not complete the exercises.
Sammie’s HIT THE WEIGHTS program focuses on the importance of weight and resistance training. While cardio exercise is certainly a beneficial part of any fitness program, developing strong, lean muscle through resistance training is just as important (if not more!). Why?
- Developing strong lean muscle mass helps the body to burn more calories at rest (so yes, you can have that Christmas cookie)
- Weight training helps build and keep bones strong (especially important for ladies who are prone to developing osteoporosis)
- Building muscle through resistance training is proven to have a positive affect on insulin resistance, resting metabolism, blood pressure, body fat, and many other measures
- Because who doesn’t want Jessica Biel arms?
The HIT THE WEIGHTS program gives you all the tools you need to make the right choices for your fitness, including a wide variety of accommodating workouts, nutritional guidance, a personal coach to answer any of your questions, and an online community of like-minded women who will inspire you on your journey!
If you’re looking to stay motivated over the coming few months, I urge you to check out the program here: http://www.bootycampfitness.com/online-personal-training.php
If you do decide to go ahead with the program, Sammie is offering an additional $10 off the price if you use the coupon code ‘sweat4sweets’.
